What is the effect of head popping on the knurling process of flat head bolts?
Head popping is incomprehensible to those unfamiliar with the screw industry. Bursts are caused by cracks in the formed bolt head. Is there any impact of head popping on the forming of flat head bolt knurling?
There are generally two types of forming for knurling of flat head bolts, one of which is processed by CNC turning. The bolt produced in this way will not have a head burst. Another production method is cold heading. First, the flat head is produced by cold heading, and then the knurled pattern on the head is produced by rubbing the knurled pattern. If it is produced by cold heading, there will be a situation of head popping. If the flat head produced has a head popping, it will not be possible to produce knurled flowers during the rubbing process.
So why does it happen when producing bolts? One is the wire problem, the other is the machine adjustment problem, and the third is the problem with the punch. If there is a head popping in production, it must be solved according to the actual situation.
